TerraGate Spatial Framework Services (SFS) provides the following services, via the SFS server:
Share geospatial feature data with all WFS-client applications
TerraGate Web Feature Service delivers layers of features, via the WFS server, to any application that reads the standard OGC WFS protocol. WFS retrieves layers of features from Shape files and from the Oracle, SQL server, PostGIS and ArcSDE databases and enables remote clients to perform spatial and attribute queries, and edit feature data (creation, deletion, and updating).
Retrieve data rapidly even from slow data sources
WFS uses a cache mechanism that helps it reduce loads from slower data sources such as ArcSDE or Oracle.
Share geospatial map data with any WMS-client application
TerraGate Web Map Service delivers map image data, via the WMS server, to any application that reads the standard OGC WMS protocol.
Easily manage data sources and layers and monitor server status
You can do all the following from the SFS Manager, using a browser web interface:
- Connect the WFS and WMS servers to their data sources (e.g. Oracle Spatial, ArcSDE, Pre-cached data)
- Monitor server status and performance
- Configure WFS and WMS server settings
- Modify and add user names, passwords, and permissions
- Define streaming layers from the data sources.
Deliver multi-resolution and stream-optimized 3D Mesh Layer databases (3DML), to remote TerraExplorer clients
3DML Service can stream from 3DML folders and from the Oracle Spatial, SQL, and PostgreSQL servers. 3DML databases are created in TerraBuilder CityBuilder by merging layers of 3D mesh city models (generated by TerraBuilder PhotoMesh), together with classification layers, and other model layers.
Provide web interface to TerraCatalog
Provides web interface to TerraCatalog, a catalog database that stores, organizes and manages connections to raster, feature, and 3DML layers. This enables remote users to easily query the catalog for the specific published layer required for a TerraBuilder or TerraExplorer project. The raster, feature, and 3DML data are then served to the client by the TerraGate service responsible for their data type.
